So I know you've been thinking, "What does a Summer Dan kind of day look and feel like?" I'm here to provide the clammering masses with an answer to that very question.
Wed, June 23
8 am: Wake up
8:15: Go to the gym with Youthlarge.
9:30: Play on the internet.
11:15 Meet Leisure Time Larry on 5th Ave. to take a bus to get see Dodgeball at Court St. By the way, what sounds better Leisure Larry or Leisure Time Larry. There seems to be much debate. Summer Dan has the kind of time to worry about such matters. I love Summer Dan.
As I watched Dodgeball, I couldn't help but fantasize about getting some Elimination (much better than Dodgeball) going soon in the Handball courts of 3rd St. Maybe I'll even play Handball. Who wants to play some Handball with me this summer? Anyone?
1:45 Bus back to Park Slope for an outside lunch with Mr. Lawrence.
3:00 Doctor appointment up the block to check on my recent ear problems. Nothing a little ear cleaning can't fix. A beautiful feeling to be able to hear again, but gosh darnit, the inner ear is a sensitive place when things are stuck inside it. I still have nightmares of the time when I was six years old and I had to be held down while the sadistic doctor of mine cured me of my ear infection with the deadly prongs of inner ear probing hell.
4:30 Took bus again to go see Story of the Weeping Camel at BAM= Story of the (Almost) Sleeping Daniel
7:00 Bus back home to read and watch the Mets but the game went extra innings so I DVRed the rest.
10:00 Met Marc for a slice, a drink, and then the 5678's at Southpaw which might have been the hottest (temperature wise) show I've been to since some ska show in Southeast DC in '93 where I thought the floor (we were on the 2nd floor) was going to collapse. It reminded me of the way RFK's stands used to precariously bounce up and down.
12:00 Went to O'Connor's for a drink with Jim and Marc where we conversed with Senor Decoursy. There was supposedly a sighting of a phantom fantasy baseball owner in the bar. This is not verified.
1:30 Came home, watched the rest of the Mets game. Matsui?!
2:15 Went to bed, gave the sleeping beauty Youthlarge a kiss goodnight.
I could get used to a regular schedule like this. The only thing missing was no time with Youthlarge. I'll have to remedy that this weekend.
