Degrassi next gen is LAME!!!!!!!!!

i expect a retraction the moment you read this comment. never watched the original degrassi? you are mistaking me for someone else, perhaps balgavy, cause his here lady was a fan of the kids of degrassi st, degrassi jr high and degrassi high. you wanna try me? what's the name of the chinese kid. yick yu, that's right. should i sing for you the theme song - no, wait do i need to sing all of "everybody wants something" by degrassi house band, the zit remedy to prove my worth? did you know kevin smith is a huge degrassi fan? check out the jacket shannon doherty wears in mallrats. yeah, degrass high, that's right. i can't believe you smeared my name like this. why don't you research the facts before you go off shooting your big fat mouth.

Kevin Smith is the worst. He's a fan of Degrassi? That is supposed to impress me? Mallrats is a piece of garbage. It remains one of only two movies that I can think of ever walking out of. Ånd I would have left earlier if I hadn't been sticking around to see when the Archers of Loaf song was going to be played.
Hey, Allison is a fan of both generations of Degrassi too and while she maintains the second generation is no first, it's still highly compelling in its own right. whatever. i can't take more than 30 seconds of it. And did everyone know Jamie is/was a huge fan of the original series? i suspect it's where the first blossom of Canada love got its roots. and dan, if Kevin Smith doesn't impress you, nothing will.

BUT SHR, if correct in her assertion that she was Deg 1 fan, deserves full apology.
sujan writes: oh, i agree, degrassi the original series is nonpareil but i am enjoying degrassi the next generation immensely. of course, instead of pogues references, we get avril lavigne, but that's the climate we live in at the moment. also, perhaps it's the timing that is making me enjoying it so much, since the season breaks for the OC and Gilmore Girls left such a huge void in my life this summer.
snake, spike, joey and caitlyn are all regular cast members and the principal is the same too! wheels was even a guest on a repeat i watched the other day. he, snake and joey all sang everybody wants something while driving back from the bowling alley!
i was indeed a fan of the 1st incarnation. most of it is gone from my memory at this point, but i'm sure a couple episodes on DVD would refresh me.
