A discussion in class today about the differences between Republicans and Democrats led to this interesting thread of dialogue.
One kid asked if there were only two political parties. I said no and listed a few others. One kid blurted out "Federalists." Another said, "I think there is a party spelled W H I G." After I mentioned there was a party called the Green Party, one student claimed that he knew of the Red Party. Finally, one child confidently raised his hand and commented, "I know of another political party. The Donner Party!" My favorite!
