My New Hero

If you read my previous post on Pat Kiernan, you might have come across a comment from a co-worker who shares in my love of all things Pat. She mentioned that she loves Pat so much that she and her husband even changed back to cable from DirecTv because they weren't getting NY1.

Imagine my delight when I discovered this comment that was posted this morning on the Kiernan post.

I suppose after being challenged to write a response I can hardly just look in without commenting.

I'll be sure to advise the Time Warner Cable executives that I'm directly responsible for winning back at least one subscriber.

Thanks for the kind words.

Pat

Now I can't verify that this is really from Mr. Kiernan himself, but I'd like to believe it was. And if it was one of my friends, you are very mean to trick me!

This portends one of three things:

1) Listmaker entries are avidly devoured by the New York media glitterati, among whom he is considered an autistic savant of rare critical insight;

2)Yer man Pat is a sad friendless bastard who despite working in TV in the world media capital schlepps home to a cold water tenement in Newark and uses his internet TV service to try and make for friends;

3) He is a classic broadcasting maniac who could be quite the man about town but prefers to sit at home feverishly googling himself and then adding anywhere his name appears to his clips file.

I am very excited for you sir. Now, if only if it had been Craig Colson (evening anchor, WABI TV5, Bangor, Maine) I would have been wicked jealous.

Dan, you have no idea what you're missing by not watching me on NBC. I am so much better than Tom Brokaw ever was. And I am handsomer that Pat Kiernan by about 40 yards. You want news, I'll give you the news. Tune in.

Your new pal,
Brian Williams

WOW!! Wes and I are super thrilled by this. Whether or not it was actually from him, we will join you in happily believing it was. If only he had used a word that is spelled differently in Canada... colour or honour, say... then we could be sure.

Can the word 'hater' be applied to an English immigrant who lives in rural Maine? I'm not sure if we have players up here; I'll have to check.

Less a hater Deb, more a gentle rib-chucker in a locker room "can't get no respect/can't give no respect" prep school way. its a guy thing.
