Baseball Trip, Days 3 and 4

Las Vegas 51's vs. Portland Beavers
Why they play day games in August in Vegas is beyond my comprehension.

Right next to the ballpark, we stumbled upon a graveyard of discarded signs and billboards. I couldn't resist peeking through and over the fence.

I love that the columns from Caesar's Palace have also been dumped here.

I wish I lived on the second floor of that apartment complex with a view of the signs! Plus, I'd be a two minute walk from the ballpark.

Tom O'Shanter has definitely seen better days.

Hott, Part II

Upon arriving at NY, NY, Youthlarge, Balgavy, and Apes went for a swim. Mitch went to the gym for a workout. I also went and was quite pleased to be able to watch baseball on my very own TV while working up a sweat. Then after much consternation, we finally settled on a buffet at the MGM Grand - a little pricier than we would have liked but satisfying nonetheless.

Youthlarge held the fort in the pricey part of town while the boyz headed to Sam's Town. Handwashings has some photographic evidence of the night at the bottom of his recap of the first three days here.

The next day --

My ripoff of a Lee Friedlander photo.

Goodbye to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.

Handwashings does some windshield washings.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. New York Mets
Who would have thought you could find a pool in an airplane hangar?

Don't forget to check part two of Handwashings' recap. And you would be remiss to miss Balgavy's recaps - now updated through Day 2.

"Handwashings does some windshield washings" may be the best caption and photo combination ever.

Your photos from the car in Vegas (strippers guy, Friedlander and ther sign) turned out infinitely better than I ever would have expected - same with the sign graveyard. Some of my favorites from the trip for sure.

Re Hott, part II- is'nt that John Daly's caddie wearing his new sponsor's logo?
