This past weekend brought the all important Bocce Tournament to Brooklyn, NY.
The proud Coffee Flats Terrors entered the crowded field of 16 teams as the number 10 seed.
After handily dispatching our Saturday opponent, we headed into Sunday as one of 8 finalists.
The Terrors knew what they needed to do -- win three matches in a row to bring the bocce glory home to Coffee Flats.

Cap'n Terror set the lineups for the all important matches. Apes and I were scheduled to play in Round 2 of the first match. Cap'n Terror didn't even slot himself in to play unless there was a deciding Round 3.
But there was none to be had as the Terrors dominated.
By the second match of the day, the Terrors were one of three teams left standing. The cap'n kept the same lineups and again, he didn't make it in as we again won in two easy rounds.

We implored our fearless leader to play but he insisted that he knew what he was doing and felt very involved.
The Championship Match
Balgavy and Sweet Touch podcast the proceedings so future generations can learn from our brilliance.

We won the first round and then proceeded to look good again in the second. Needing only one more point to put away our opponent and the championship, Cap'n Terror began to celebrate as soon as Ezra released the ball.

Could it really be?

YES!

The cap'n put the Terrors where they belong - at the top of the heap.

Mike shared some Victory Eclairs which he had bought a few hours before. I guess if we had lost, they would have been Consolation Eclairs.

Could it get any better than trophies (mine looks quite nice next to my Coffee Flats Fantasy Baseball trophy), a free round of beer, and worldwide recognition?

Yes, yes it can.

For some reason, we were asked to pose in the bathroom. No need to ask any questions though - hell we get to drive around in a limo with a clown!
The cap'n dubbed me Danny Bocceduce. I can live with that.
Floyd will hopefully put some pictures on their site. Be on the lookout for Balgavy's upcoming podcast. Should be a good one.

We all know what a sports fan you are, but I had no idea you were also so athletic.
Seriously, you get an A in knowing how to have fun.
Awesome.
I'm so proud to be a fan.
"Danny Bocceduce." Easy about shouting that about- the other teams might press for a Senate hearing on steroids in bocce.
