In January, Chewbacca will commence on seventeen different reconnaissance missions throughout the greater P. Slope area. Basically, he will go home with seventeen different eight and nine year-olds over the course of seventeen weeks. He will take some pictures of his travels as well as document his discoveries in writing. He wants all seventeen of his charges and their parents to be able to read about his adventures.
He would like to do this on the internet. But he isn't sure the best option for this endeavor. He doesn't know if blogger is the best option even though he has already started his own blog just in case. Chewbacca likes blogger because of how easy it is for his friend Listmaker to work with and it is free. Chewbacca likes free stuff. Just ask Greedo.
However, Chewbacca is worried that the "Next Blog" feature might lead young eyes astray to things they should not see -- like the wretched hive of scum and villainy of Mos Eisley spaceport. He knows that in the blogger template this function can be removed but Chewbacca has a hard time reading template code and couldn't figure it out. He asked Han for help but that guy is too damn busy getting tail these days to help.
Of course, there is Live Journal which can be easily password protected. Although since Chewbacca doesn't plan on taking any pictures of his young hosts and all entries will be posted under Chewbacca's name, he isn't really worried if outsiders read his blog. In fact, Chewbacca loves attention. But Chewbacca isn't sure if adding pictures is free. And as we all know Wookiees are a notoriously lazy bunch when it comes to internet research. Plus, does Chewbacca really want to get caught up in Live Journal?
So Chewbacca beseeches you for help. Please send your advice on this very delicate endeavor to this space and I will forward it along.
Thank you for your attention.

I'd ask you pal Eddie Murray (pulling out that code sounds like a job for Mactechwitch though).
could you just set up an account at flickr and give everyone the u/n & p/w? then all the photos would be in one place, the kids can add descriptions, and might have fun with the notes feature. this plan is dependent on how much uploading/traffic you foresee happening.
Um, please ignore the "job for..." suggestion made by weasel. Let's see if we can make the flickr thing work.
Does Chewy wanna come to England for Christmas?
What about a WordPress blog? Then again, Flickr sounds even better. It's so easy to use!
i figured out how to manipulate blogger for my purposes. i'm getting excited. thank you to all who offered advice - especially youthlarge - expert googler.
flickr is good but my problem with them is that it seemed too easy to browse other photos from the page and that is exactly what i want to try to prevent.
