After dinner, I suggested a trip to Fort Lee for some Callahan's hot dogs before they close shop for good in February.

Unfortunately, they had already closed for the night. So we headed across the street to the other hot dog joint Hiram's. Upon moving to Fort Lee in 1980 Youthlarge's family picked Callahan's over Hiram's and never looked back. The rowdy roadhouse Hiram's was off-limits. In fact, Youthlarge had never set foot inside. But faced with a choice of either a wasted trip to Jersey or biting the bullet, we headed into Hiram's.

The verdict: The toasted bun and the birch beer were better than Callahan's but other than that, Callahan's won the Youthlarge taste test. Even though Youthlarge broke a 25 year boycott of Hiram's on this night, she still swears that she will never set foot in Geno's.

Saturday brought us to Jim and Mike's for New Year's Eve.

Balgavy and Youthlarge cut a rug. Youthlarge warned me not to put photographic evidence online but I figure she can't get too upset with this blurry image of her.

Sunday was the big Board Game Day at Sir Balgavy's.

My first game of the day saw me partnered with Donovan in a match of Pop Culture DVD Trivial Pursuit - perhaps the lamest game ever invented.
Let's go to the videotape for ridiculous word searches, terrible celebrity caricatures, and 400 hour long George Carlin monologues.

Donovan and I were the mix tape.

I think this game was called Gambler. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with Kenny Rogers.

Don't know much about this game but I vaguely recall it had something to do with answering dumb questions like "What makes a good jam?" or something like that. Or maybe that was another game. It was a long day.

Then I embarked on my second game of the day - Peanuts Uno. It was damn good but close to two hours long! That game is heartbreaking. Everytime you get close to winning, you get screwed! Kaci played a top notch game and took the victory.

Balgavy kept us going all day with the hott tunes. I loved seeing this selection for obvious reasons.

Anne, Budweiser, and Texas Hold' Em

My third game of the day - VCR Clue

It was a tense game with many false leads and incorrect theories. Just as I thought I was getting somewhere, Balgavy pulled out the win.
My notes

Somehow I never made it into a game of Cluzzle. It was explained to me as sort of Pictionary with clay.

Baby New Year

The party just kept on going well into the evening.

Balgavy did a bang up job getting ready for the festivities. Some of his fine work included wonderful memories of championships past.

The winner's board. Notice my one victory with Donovan is listed as Danovan. Nice!

After seven hours (the party lasted an astounding 13 plus), Youthlarge and I headed home.

Cumberland St, I hardly knew you.

After a stop for some margaritas and snacks with Skippy and Cortney, Youthlarge and I fired up the menorah and officially closed out the holiday season.

"man in trouble with IRS is victim!"
awesome photos. and i really like the silhoutte new year's eve shots!
that fact that Adam uses the term "upskirt" in some of his photos of pizza is both hilarious and disturbing.
i learned to love cluzzle like how i learned to love beets. next time we play, we have to take pictures of all the sculptures.
Cumberland St photo- is that a gnome hiding among the rubble, or a traffic cone?
There wasn't an edition of "By Jove!" at Balgavy's party by any chance? Country Mouse would be sooooo excited.
Jamie: I wish I could take credit for the term, but Kathryn Yu came up with "pizza upskirt" in this Flickr comment.
Cluzzle is awesome, but I'm glad nobody took pictures of my sculptures. (I'm sure Balgavy is relieved, too.) That would be incriminating evidence. I like how Youthlarge is all into Cluzzle now after talking all that smack on it earlier.
You HAVE to try Sequence.
I've added Sequence for 2007's party. I bought it at a thrift store for $1.63.
