Silencing James Blunt
One radio station has had enough of the chart-topping British rocker James Blunt, Agence France-Presse reported. Responding to listeners who said they were fed up with hearing "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover," Essex FM in southern England has banned his songs. "We don't have anything against James Blunt, and we're pleased he has been so successful, but we really need a break," said Chris Cotton, the program director. He noted that the music industry pressures radio stations to play the music of certain performers over and over again. "We're happy to stand up to this pressure and follow the strong message listeners have given us," Mr. Cotton said. "We encourage other radio stations to take the same step."
