Over the past three baseball seasons, SHR has permitted me to get baseball's Extra Innings Package on cable. For a mere 150 clams, I've had access to something in the neighborhood of 50 out of town games per week. But now, baseball wants to sell the rights to Direct TV which means that I won't be able to get the package anymore. But now John Kerry is fighting for the downtrodden amongst us.
"I am opposed to anything that deprives people of reasonable choices. In this day and age, consumers should have more choices -- not fewer. A Red Sox fan ought to be able to watch their team without having to switch to DIRECTV."Nothing like our leaders fighting for what is truly important. I say that without an ounce of sarcasm. Ok, well maybe a little.

MLB can suck it. Worst run pro league, by far. Just think of all the crap that's happened in the past twenty years, from collusion to work stoppages to steroids to insane player salaries/team spending to the huge upkick in ticket prices. This is just another way that they screw their most passionate fans. Don't worry, Listmaker, you can still watch games on your computer!
I'll miss it I guess, but SNY is going nowhere, and in the end that's all that matters.
I have the mlb.com package, and I like it, so I can still use that for my non_mets related baseball needs.
Four games at once... delicious.
permitted? you make me sound like ryan howard's momma.
Take out the sarcasm! We need leaders who understand technology, open source, choice, technology, etc...I applaud that. Another example of a democrat who should have fired all advisers and just been himself....
The NFL already does the fascist Direct TV model, and thats WITHOUT a web option...its an absolute joke, crime, money grab....I agree with Noiseboy if MLB does this is will be shortsighted to the max
of course, they are shortsighted. this is so stupid. plus, i think it only gives each team about a million extra dollars a year which is the price of one chris woodward type player. they really want people to go to mlb.com but until the technology exists that you can watch the internet on tv easily and cheaply where it looks good, this idea is bullshit.
and no, i'm not being sarcastic but i did feel silly for it so i couched it.
