Today is my mom's 60th birthday. On Saturday, SHR went to MD to surprise her. Earlier in the week, Amy asked her where she would like to go to dinner and reservations were made.
Despite my best efforts to ruin the surprise (I accidentally included my mom as part of a group e-mail to the rest of the family about the surprise prompting my grandmother to call me and inquire how this whole thing was going to be a surprise for my mom since I had just e-mailed her all of the information thus requiring me to call my sister to have her hack into my mom's email account and delete the offending e-mail) it all went swimmingly.
SHR and I had been hiding in the shadows next to the dumpster in SHR's mom's car as the family parked. Mom, Stone Groove, and Amy found their seats in the restaurant. SHR and I made our way into the restaurant after Amy texted us to let us know that the coast was clear and that everyone was seated.
My mom was studying the menu after making a mental note about how strange it was that three people had been seated at a table for five. SHR and I walked right up to the table. Mom was too into trying to decipher the menu to notice our presence.
This is what happened.
It was a great evening. It was well worth the drive to see my mom so surprised and so happy.
Happy Birthday, Lady Groove.
