And they all hate Schilling? (Schilling's whole personality has to come from a place of deep self-loathing.)

and were traded/released?

and all had their best years elsewhere (thus no Mussina on the list)?

and are suspected of taking PEDs?

and all have World Series rings with other teams (thus no Mussina again)?

i think it's the last one.

They've all won a ring since leaving the Orioles - in fact, several of them have won rings for teams that did not even exist the last time the Orioles were in the World Series.

yes, they are all former orioles who have world championship rings since 2001, the first season in which mussina became a yankee and uttered these words at his first press conference, "Hopefully, we can win another one. I hope I didn't get here when I should have been here a couple of years ago. I hope we win one this year and the next year and the next year.'' He smiled and added, ''How many years am I playing here?''

f you mussina!

i was hoping that jorge julio would be added to this elite roster of former o's but i'll have to be content with schilling earning his 3rd and timlin his 2nd.

Two more thoughts on the O's:

1) They should sign A-Rod. Not that A-Rod wants to come to b-more. Will they be a good team with him? no. but if they lock him up for many years they will at least generate some excitement and it will pay off in attendance when he breaks barry's hr record years from now

2) still waiting for mitchel's reports about steroids. every name seems to be connected to the O's somehow. Now, I'm not saying I know anything, but you keep hearing there are "big names" that will shock the world on the list. any chance cal is on it? he was best friends with brady "50 home run" anderson. IF he was on it, does baseball cover it up? can you imagine how crushing that would be if it was true and it came out?

Just some random thoughts...

i think cal and kevin costner used to inject each other in the bathroom right after tagteaming kelly. at least that's what i heard.

and Sir Sidney would have made the list last year if he'd stayed w/ St. L.

i almost googled to see whether or not sidney got a ring or not but i decided that wasn't good enough.

i so wanted to have him on this list too.

oh well, there's always 2008.

also, did Larry Bigbie get a ring?

i thought about him as well and i checked - he didn't have one ab in the series so i assumed he wasn't on the team for the series.

but i guess i could have included him.

You don't have to be on the WS roster to get a ring. See one Wakefield.

yeah, i guess bigbie should be on this list.

but ponson was off the team by mid summer and was absolutely horrible when he was on the team.
