On one hand, I'm happy for any Huey sighting. On the other hand, it is with Garth Brooks and the new lyrics and the whole Nascar stuff is a bit much.

Jjosh said...: Isn't pop culture amazing? leaving aside all the VH1 specials about "one-hit wonders" and "where are they now"'s, these two guys used to be such enormous cultural icons that you couldn't escape them if you tried. And I'm not trying to make a "now they're reduced to this" kind of point, more like, look these guys made such an impact that someone over at Nascar still believes that they will get people to buy into the brand. Amazing.

I once lost a bet with a college roomate -- if he lost he would have to listen to my music for a week, and if I lost I would have to listen to his. We hated each other's music. I lost, and spent the week listening to Boys II Men and Garth Brooks. It still pains me to think about it.; January 17, 2008 1:27 PM
