Tomorrow my class is taking a field trip to Lower Manhattan to visit the Fraunces Tavern museum for a little American Revolution fun.

A kid asked what it was and a few kids started giggling at the mere mention of the word "tavern." I told them that yes, I was taking them to a bar. I told them that each kid was going to drink eight beers. I then would split the class into four smaller groups, give each group a compass, leave them on their own, and see which group could make their way back across the East River and back to school first.

A couple of kids claimed that that would be easy. I told them, "Not after eight beers, it wouldn't."

Close to six hours after school ended today and still not one parent complaint!

fraunces tavern is pretty cool....check out if they still have the exhibit on blacks during the revolutionary war...

one cool thing is that Fraunce was prolly a light skin black man.
