The Sun Sets on Yet Another Mets Season

The view from Shea on Wednesday night.

At least this year, they only blew a 3 game lead with 17 left, rather than a 7 game lead. This team was a lot more fun to root for than last year's team.

They didn't fall apart because of a lack of heart like they did in '07. They just couldn't get it done because of one of the worst bullpens imaginable. Today's loss was painful but nothing like the pain caused by last year's debacle. Go Brewers!

It's odd that both NYC teams are out of the playoffs, and their stadiums. Sorry things didn't work out this year.

Considering how the season started, there's nothing to hang your heads about. Unlike those cocknobbers in the Bronx.

forget what i said. this is way painful. they might not have choked but where was the offense? 7-10 in the final 17 games is better than last year's 5-12 but if they had needed to go 7-10, then they would have gone 6-11. ugh.

I left the park feeling sad, but more resigned and actually a little relieved. They were never going to win more than one game vs. the Cubs, and now we don't have to spend a lot of time, money and energy watching them fail.
