I'm fascinated to know the back story here. An art project? Was there an anti-semitic mixer complete with name tags held on the block and some partygoer left theirs on the sidewalk after the party? A threat directed at me? What the hell is going on?

Does the Pretty Leaf Blunt the Message At All?
SHR noticed this on the sidewalk about a block from our apartment.
I'm fascinated to know the back story here. An art project? Was there an anti-semitic mixer complete with name tags held on the block and some partygoer left theirs on the sidewalk after the party? A threat directed at me? What the hell is going on?

I don't want to point any fingers, but it looks like you've got some seriously fucking hateful oak trees on your block.
That ain't no oak.
Oaks are generally very conservative, yes, sometimes racist even, but they are not known for outward shows of anti-semitism.
No oak tree I know would ever be so vulgar as to drop non-biodegradable products on the street.
yep, you've got an antisemitic red maple on your hands. i know this because i was a tree identification volunteer for baltimore's "tree baltimore" program. no really -- http://www.ci.baltimore.md.us/government/recnparks/treeBaltimore.php. the antisemitic variety, however, is quite rare, and i didn't see any of those in baltimore.
And there was that bloke in a bear costume on your street when I visited. Bloody odd place, Brooklyn.
