Milkshake Party

I arrived late and left early.

But I did enjoy this amazing peanut butter chocolate Jameson malt.
Earlier in the evening I missed a chocolate caramel Guinness malt, a cherry rum shake and a coffee Guinness shake.

Later in the evening I missed a Balgavy and Courson dance party.

The BQE Is Always Lovely on a Rainy Night

7/29

Dear The New York Mets Baseball Club,

Why can't you postpone a game at 5:30 rather than 7:10? Was the forecast really that different a little later in the evening? I have never been to a game that was canceled right as the game is supposed to start. In cases like tonight, games are usually just postponed early before people come to the game and spend $17.25 on tacos and a beer.

Why do you have to make your security guys brusquely tell me to leave 2 minutes after the announcement of the postponement as I'm trying to finish my $17.25 tacos and beer. Don't give me the excuse that you are worried that I might get hit by lightning. If the team was so worried about this, they shouldn't have let me show up in the first place. But then, I guess I wouldn't have spent my $17.25 at your ballpark.

I want my 3 plus hours back.

Yours truly,
A disgruntled Listmaker

A Trip to the Catskills, Part III

Saturday afternoon and night

Bocce time.

I loved this chair in the yard.

Skippy and babies.

Pouting because we wouldn't let babies play bocce.

Um, yeah ...

After some amazing grilling by Mooney and Ezra, it was time for some smores!

Erik almost burned down this tree.

Marc brought some game that was like a sex version of Pictionary or something but the name escapes me. I was falling apart by this point but I did snap a picture or two.

The boys peacefully slept despite the smut being discussed downstairs.

Sneaky Pete kept a close watch.

The goodbyes.

The boys got reacquainted with their backseat mate.

On the drive home, a mouse appeared on our windshield and ran back and forth for 10 minutes or so before finally running down the hood and disappearing.

An interesting end to the trip but still not as crazy as this oddity from the baseball trip in '07.

A Trip to the Catskills, Part II

Saturday

Sam, Sneaky Pete, The Pickle, and Otis

Sneaky Pete made both of my boys cry. Meanwhile, he put an angelic glow on The Pickle.

Sneaky Pete prepared to make his move.

Getting closer.

Jim tried to show me how to make scrambled eggs.

Lauren displayed her stance for Sneaky Pete.

SHR channeled her inner Keith.

The Showdown: Sean vs. Rebecca

Strike One!

Strike Two!

Strike Three! Yer out!

The rest of the photos in this post were taken by Jim.

Another view of the strikeout.

Continuing to make Keri jealous.

He was happy that his mom didn't strike out his dad.

After some tubing where a disaster occurred, it was time for the reinforcements.

Look - it is Ezra and Marc!

A Trip to the Catskills, Part I

Last weekend, Erik booked us a sprawling estate in the Catskills. SHR, Sam, Otis, and I headed up on a Friday.

A few people were already up there by Wednesday. We followed the early adventures on Facebook.

Rebecca was on Baby Cam duty in the backseat.

Cortney brought some great beer cozies from her sister's expanding family.

Skippy, the Pickle, and Cortney

After a little relaxing, it was time for kickball. Otis was quite interested to learn the game and had a front row seat.

Rebecca made sure that Otis didn't get too lonely.

Erik bragged to Sean about how he wasn't going to lose any competitive games over the entire weekend.

SHR comforted Sam who was a bit upset to not be featured in the new Wes Anderson flick.

Otis wasn't sure what to think.

He figured it out pretty quickly.

It is too bad that Otis didn't stay up later - Sean did some excellent grilling in the rain.
