Night Time in Philadelphia

Showing off part of the $3 special at Bob & Barbara's. The shots of Jim Beam had already been consumed.

Not quite the same thing as the glory days of Nate Wiley, but the band still sounded great.

Classy.

And then it was off to Pat's.

Documenting the glory of it all.

The next morning. One man, two strollers.

Two Thoughts on New York Baseball

1. I don't care if the Mets just beat the Yankees two out of three. Get rid of Jerry Manuel and bring back Bobby V. I liked Manuel when his managerial tenure began with the Mets in 2008. But he's not what the team needs right now. It needs Bobby V. It needs a celebrity hothead to take some of the pressure off of the players. It needs a better handler of pitchers. It needs a guy who knows how to coddle babies (see Armando Benitez) and get the best of them. Bring back Bobby V.

2. Is it just me or is this recent Sports Illustrated cover on the "core" Yankees a bit weird? Why is Jeter looking away from the other three? The dude is so aloof that he can't even look at his teammates or the camera for the cover shot? And what exactly is going on with Posada and Rivera's knee?

If only they could add some needles sticking out of Pettitte's meaty thighs, this picture would completely sum up the "Core Four." Or maybe they could have added A-Rod lurking on the edge of the frame begging to be let in on the fun.

Goal!!

Last weekend, Dave, Henry, Jamie and I headed to Jersey to see the new Red Bulls stadium.

It was a lot more fun than the last time I went to a Red Bulls game.

It was a nice day. Too bad there weren't more people there. Maybe if there were tickets cheaper than 20 bucks or so and they might see an uptick in attendance?

Time for a penalty kick.

Goal!!!!

The goal ended up being the deciding factor in a 2-1 Red Bulls victory.

I had a great time but wish that New York City had a team. It took way too long to get home. Still, I look forward to going to more games - especially with Double Trouble.
